Travelling is wonderful, but if you live in Vancouver you know that you don’t need to go far to have an awe-inspiring experience. After all, people flock from all over the world to experience Vancouver’s thriving arts and culture scene, its world-renowned cuisine and its surrounding spectacular natural scenery.

For the last decade Vancouver has been experiencing exciting growth, with new attractions and services under development as well as an array of new condo buildings, boutiques, restaurant, cafes and personal care services setting up shop all over the city.

If you’re a resident of Vancouver, you might be curious about the new offerings available. You could head out and try them for yourself but it’s always good to have a trusted source point you in the right direction.

A suggested itinerary for a three-day staycation in Vancouver would include dinner at a pub in Vancouver such as Kingston Taphouse & Grille. Next, head down to one of the Lower Mainland’s oldest communities, New Westminster, to the historic Columbia Theatre. Opened in 1927, the theatre has recently been revamped to include a comedy club and a stage where live musical acts take place throughout the week.

The next day, pack your overnight bag for a trip to the world-class resort town of Whistler. On the way stop at the Britannia Mine Museum near Squamish where you can pan for gold. In Whistler there are many activities to do all year-round including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking and mountain biking.

Once you’re back in Vancouver, enjoy some downtime at one of the city’s many spas. Get a manicure/pedicure, a facial or a full-body massage. Next, grab a drink at one of the area’s many coffee shops and go for a stroll along the seawall. If it’s cold and rainy outside, (which we all know it can be during cooler months), head to one of the city’s indoor beaches for a little game of volleyball.

Finally, cap your staycation off with a ride on a Vancouver Harbour Cruise.
